An important part of our process is the settlement opportunity letter.
We investigate a case thoroughly after we sign a client. We get and review all relevant documents, interview witnesses, and research the applicable law. Then we send a very detailed letter to the defendant corporation – called a settlement opportunity letter. We recount the facts in detail and provide evidence that backs up our claims. We discuss the law, and show the defendant why they have already lost the case. We go over their exposure at trial, and what we will ask for from a jury. Then, at the end, we tell them that they have the power to try to stop it – they can reach out to us and offer a fair amount for our client. Oftentimes, this gets exceptional settlements for our clients – all without them ever having to get into litigation or step into a courtroom.
We represented Jesse. She worked at a company for 3 years. Her boss made derogatory comments about women. Jesse complained to HR. She was fired 1 week later. The company said it was due to poor performance.
We sent a very detailed settlement opportunity letter to the company. They responded quickly and said they wanted to talk.
So we scheduled a settlement conference and resolved the matter for $300,000. Jesse was ecstatic.
It’s our honor to represent people as decent and courageous as Jesse.
